These drawings (pen & ink - 12" x 10") are part of what has been an ongoing series since 1994. The original piece was inspired by Aleister Crowley's Psalm 69 - "How to succeed and how to suck eggs." This is a barely veiled reference / explanation of sex magick ritual and various forms of erotic mysticism. From that original piece I kept developing the 'embracing figures' and re-working them and the themes into which they were inserted and/or intertwined. These in particular were done mainly between 1997-2001.

Please note: Concerning the image of the swastika - DO NOT contact me with uninformed criticisms / hatemail. The swastika is an ancient and, with the brief exception of its use by the Nazi party, highly revered symbol. I hold nothing in common with the abberant beliefs of Adolf Hitler and prefer to see the symbol in light of its otherwise beloved history. If you feel you must comment upon its use, first educate yourself - try starting here with Manwoman's site. He has devoted his life to educating people as to the meaning and history of this design in various cultures. Also, remember that various despicable groups have used any number of icons and we do not hold that against the icon - for instance, the Nazis also used the eagle but we have no problem with it as a symbol today.
