My first show in my new hometown. It was awhile in the making, but it came off great. The last time I had performed in Austin was the first I had ever been to Austin as part of the Voodoo Tour opening for Godsmack. Now, it was over 3 years later and I had been living in Austin for about a year and a half without having done a show here since. Ron Garza and I had discussed doing a club show in town before - myself, suspensions by TSD, and possibly some bands - but it hadn't quite come together yet. We did have a venue in mind though - Emo's. The final shove we needed came from, of all places, New Zealand. My agent, Chuck Harris, had arranged for me to do an interview with a New Zealand film crew and they also wanted to get video of a show. They would be in town for one day only, January 22nd, and so Ron and I headed over to Emo's to see about booking the date. From the beginning, Frank & Graham were really enthusiastic about having us and immediately cleared the date. Now it was up to us to pull together show... |

My part was fairly simple, I would just be doing my usual one hour club show. As a special bonus, we also got Mr Lifto and Larry the Leopard to make guest appearances. For the suspensions Ron envisioned two inverted knee suspensions and a very viscious 360 degree spinning rig. Pat Tidwell & Ime went up for the inverteds and Mark Rose endured the 360 while Chapa supplied the music. Afterward, the USS Friendship took the stage. Unfortunately, I had to leave right after the suspensions (before they were even cut down) in order to load up the car and then prepare everything for our drive to Ohio. We left that night at about 3am to our next stop: The Superbowl of Ink. The response for the show was fanatastic and alot of people came out to support it. Based on this, plans were already being made for the next night we would invade Emos before this one was even over. |

| Oh yes, and for those who are wondering about "How drunk is too drunk?" Well, too drunk is when you come up onstage and drink the 'Lizard juice' - thanks Oliver! | |
