Kryptonite Bar

This is Mossy. If you have read through my accounts of the last couple Jagermiester Tours (here & here), you may recognize him as part of the crew and tour photographer. He is also part of a Rockford based band known as the Heavils which has played a number of opening spots on the tours. Ever since I met Mossy he has been pushing for me to come play some gigs at clubs he knew. The original plan was for to play with the Heavils but they were without a drummer, so instead he booked me a solo show at Kryptonite in his hometown.  
After finishing up our day at Summerfest, Dr Grift and I drove down from Milwaukee to Rockford. A pretty straightforward ninety minutes on the highway except that construction and detours in Milwaukee had us turned aorund several times before getting truly underway. Nevertheless, we made it to Rockford with plenty of time and Mossy swung by to pick us up at the club so that we could get some dinner back at his place before the show.

   

After some pizza we returned to Kryptonite and I posed for some pictures for a photographer friend of the Chris (the owner). The we began to set up for the show and enjoyed a couple beverages - Mossy enjoyed several (look at the picture again, he's ripped).

   

From the back of the crowd Mossy shot these pics for us during the show. He also took another picture, a self-potrait of sorts, that I will be kind enough not to post here. The show was a great chance to cut loose - especially being in the midst of our summerfest run where profanity and some stunts were verboten. Beyond simply being free to do whatever material I wanted, I also chose to test out a lot of new material in the show (mostly stand-up / spoken word). The crowd was definitely into it and I was really happy with the results. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to Rockford.

After the show we hung out too briefly before having to drive back up to Milwaukee and finish out our run at summerfest.
