Halloween Horror Nights

XI

 Universal Studios Orlando, FLorida

Doing a show, especially a show like ours four to six times a night, can be more than enough work to keep you occupied. However, the nature of the business is that there's alot more to be done than just getting on and off stage. A big part of that is press and promotional work. Fortunately for us, unlike some shows where we are responsible for all our own publicity, the Universal PR department was handling the advertising. Even so, there was still something for us to do. I had been contacted by Bubba the Love Sponge about the possibility of doing an interview on his morning radio show back when this run was in negotiations and as a result we had waited to see if I might be able to actually come to the studio while in Florida. Everything worked out and was cleared by Universal PR, so we planned a trip from Orlando to Tampa to do the show.

PR is almost always either a great deal of fun or a tremendous pain in neck - this was alot of fun. Bubba and his crew were great and I almost forgot about how early in the morning it was and how little sleep we had gotten. We even tried to arrange a return appearance but unfortunately our schedule didn't allow it - but I'll definitely be looking to swing in again next time I'm in the area.

After leaving the radio station we took advantage of the trip by visiting the nearby Dali museum.

The museum doesn't allow photography inside, but take my word for it - its magnificient. Scott and I both enjoyed it immensely and I was really impressed with the collection.

Outside, we discovered that I wasn't the only reptilian fan of Dali - there were literally dozens of these guys running about near the entrance:
