June means summer concerts and that means hitting the road with Sobe. After our successful appearance with them at last year's Weenie Roast in LA, Sobe decided to have us back again with them at a number of events...

Edgefest 11, Dallas, TX - June 1st

Edgefest would be the first of the June events with Sobe. Dallas is only a short drive from Austin but its a bit of a trip from Albany, NY - especially on short notice. So, Scott stayed in NY for this one while Meghan and Allen Falkner filled in on assistant duties for the show. Allen also brought along some of the boys from TSD who not only performed on my stage but also pulled the Sobe Love Bus by the hooks in their backs.

Dysfunctional Family Picnic, Jones Beach, NYC - June 8th

After Edgefest, I drove up to Albany to pickup Scott and from there we drove down to NYC for the Dysfunctional Family Picnic. Space was a little bit tighter in NY, so we would often move from our small tent beside the Sobe tent to do short bits on top of the bus.

BCN River Rave, Boston, MA - June 9th

Once the headliners took the stage in NYC, we packed up and drove to Boston. After a bit of searching we found a hotel and crashed for nice 5 hour nap before heading over to venue. This was to be the inaugural event at the new stadium in Boston. This time we were setup right next to the second stage. As such, we pretty much just alternated with the bands performing there - which included the kickovers, a new band featuring a friend of mine, Johnny Rio, that I had met while he was giutar teching for the mighty mighty bosstones.

KROQ Weenie Roast, LA, CA - June 15th

After the River Rave we had a quick dinner with my friends Alan & Roxanne and their new baby Chloe. Then it was time to hit the road - for about 36 hours. We drove from there back to Austin with a couple days to relax before flying out to LA to do the Weenie Roast. Our tent here had a few interesting guests including crew and management from a number of the bands. After we finished, we caught up with Allen who performing at fetish ball.
